A BRIEF ON DR AYENIGBARA GEORGE OMONIYI
Prof. Ayenigbara George Omoniyi joined the services of Adekunle Ajasin U niversity , Akungba-Akoko on July 6th, 2004 as a lecturer 11. In 2007, his appointment was confirmed and was promoted to the position of Lecturer 1. He became a senior lecturer on october 1st, 2011; in October 1st 2015 was promoted to the position of a Reader; and full Professor in 2018.
Prof. Ayenigbara obtained Ordinary Diploma in Agriculture in 1979; B.Sc (Hons) Ed in 1985; M.Ed in 1988 and Ph.D in 1998. He specialised in community Health Education and Health Promotion. Among his schedule of duties was the coordination of Human Kinetics and Health Education Unit of the science and Technical Education, a unit that eventually became a full fledged department in 2015, where he served as the pioneer Head of Department from 2015 to 2017. He was the chairman Teaching Practice Committee; Vice-President ASUU multipurpose cooperative society AAUA; Director of studies School of Basic Studies , Epinmi AKOKO; member, Ebola Sensitization Teachers Response Committee ; Pioneer Chairman Teachers Registration Council Of Nigeria(TRCN)AAUA Chapter , and a Member of AAUA Sports Council, among other duties.
He is engaged in the following community services; Member Governing Council, Upland College of Education ,Ifira/Ipesi, AKOKO; Chair session 8, Accessible World, World Congress on Special Needs Dducation, Temple University, Philadelphia USA; Guest Lecturer, Ondo State Conference of Nigeria Principals of Secondary Schools; and Congregational Representatative at Senate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko.
Prof. Ayenigbara is a member of Nigerian School Health Association; member, National Association Of Physical Health, Education and Recreation (NAPHER-SD); Member, National Association of Sports and Medicine (NASSM); and Member, Nigerian Association of Health Education (NAHE).
He has many awards and prizes including Fellow of Strategic Institute for National Resources and Human Development (FRHD). Prof. Ayenigbara Published 43 articles in reputable journals, many of which appeared in International Journals. He is a mentor to his junior colleagues and students. He is happily married and blessed.
Prof. (Mrs) M.B.I. Omoniyi, Bsc (OAU), PGDE, Med (Benin), PhD (Ado-Ekiti) is currently the Dean, Faculty of Education.
Prior to her appointment as the Dean, she has served as the pioneer Director of the university Students’ Works Study Scheme and Head of Department, Guidance and Counselling. She has served at various committees in the university and still member of several.
Prof. (Mrs) M.B.I Omoniyi has publications in several local and foreign reputable journals and has attended many conferences within and outside the country.
She is a member of many professional bodies.
